Jonathan Parfrey'sLust for Peace |
Today is Treasure in Cracked PotsHi Jonathan! I've revamped my "Page for JP." I don't want you to lose sight of the bigger picture by thinking that I believe the only issue is lust. I think it is definitely an issue, but I'm really glad you are willing and able to tell me that you don't. I really enjoy having people disagree with me, as long as their goal is to make me see the truth. Even if I disagree with them, I grow through the discussion.
You'll never know how much I respect you, Jonathan. You are an extraordinarily talented and compassionate person. I'm sure that because I'm a nerdy guy who's never been married and has led such a sheltered life, my attempts to heal your marriage seem quite presumptuous. I'm sure you're tempted to dismiss them all, and I'm quite surprised that you're even reading this page.
I'm not offering you my own wisdom. I'm pointing you to something greater.
It's not MY arguments that you have to deal with. This isn't "Kevin versus Jonathan." On your trek through life, you have now come upon a broken, decaying, long-ignored signpost, which points toward an oasis. This web site is the signpost, not that oasis.
God's Word is the water which brings healing and life. The Empires of the world try to simulate life by substituting political power and tinsel and glitter for real civilization. They mock the Bible. But Hollywood is no substitute for the City of God.
When you are unafraid to publicly admit that you are a fanatic follower of the God of Moses, Isaiah, Jesus and Paul, and willing to proclaim that the secular city of Man is no substitute for the City of God, you will find that Rio has become convinced that philandering is no substitute for marriage and family.
