Jonathan Parfrey's

Lust for Peace

Today is

Seeking God

Let's survey the goals of a "Rebuilder."

The first goal of a "Rebuilder" (p.4) is Rebuildling a Heart that Seeks God.

By all appearances, Jonathan, you are a Godly man. An "anti-Adam" (to refer to that caricature of your brother created by the New Times writer). A spiritual person who

  • Worked in a soup kitchen.
  • Fights for the homeless.
  • Works for Peace.

I'm not here to say it's all a lie. Nor should you be concerned to compare yourself with all my dysfunctional nerdisms to provide yourself excuses for not confronting things that might be raised on this web journey.

In America, it doesn't take much to be comparatively Christian.

{5}God is indeed angry, for we have sinned;
In these ways we continue;
And we need to be saved.

{6} But we are all like an unclean thing,
And all our righteousnesses are like used Kotex®;
We all fade as a leaf,
And our iniquities, like the wind,
Have taken us away.

{7} And there is no one who calls on Your name,
Who stirs himself up to take hold of You;
Isaiah 64:4-7

I am not writing as your spiritual superior. As I have written these pages, I have the need to "stir myself up" to know God better. You'll notice the third part of the first goal (p.4): "Learning who God really is." Yeah, I suppose I am a tad conceited, and I guess at times I think a Calvinist like me can tell a Hindu Democrat like you a thing or two about God. But it's wrong for me to think that, and wrong for you to ignore Isaiah because you think I think that. This web page is just between you and God. As a friend, may I suggest that this dopey page can be a tool which a powerful, sovereign God can use to bring you to a greater knowledge of Him.
