Ursula Maria Kleinecke was born and raised in Mexico, where her interest in music
began at an early age. Inspired by her mother’s
beautiful voice and initially taught by her pianist father, she decided at the age of
seven that she would grow up to be a singer. Since
then, Miss Kleinecke has resided and performed in north and central America, Europe and
Scandinavia, and has received awards at various vocal competitions including regional
National Association of Teachers of Singing competitions and the National Metropolitan
Opera Auditions competition. Furthermore, she has pursued other interests such as
engineering, peer counseling, real estate and ballroom dancing. However, it is her passion
for music and its power to move, touch, heal and inspire that is the driving force in her
life. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Theory/Composition from the University of the
Pacific, and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Literature from the Eastman School
of Music. In addition to teaching private
voice lessons in Claremont and being an active performer as concert soloist and in recital
throughout the globe, Miss Kleinecke is founder of and active participant in the project Make
a Joyful Noise!, a program which offers music and music-making opportunities to
battered women and children for them to experience harmony and relatedness through music |
