Jonathan Parfrey'sLust for Peace |
Today is Hi Jonathan! This is a continuation of our survey of the Rebuilder's Guide. It would be great if you were so interested in it that you sat down and read the whole thing all the way through. But if you haven't the time, you'll get through it eventually if you just take 5 minutes a day, which is the whole purpose of this web site. We've surveyed the first 3 goals of the Rebuilder:
These primarily have to do with rebuilding our own relationship with God. The Fourth Goal is Rebuilding Your Marriage. (A summary of each goal is always given at the beginning of the chapter in the form of a quiz.) There are two parts to this goal. First, praying a "Hedge of Thorns" around Rio, so that no one else is attracted to her, and obstacles are placed in the path leading away from your marriage. Then there is the requirement to meet her basic needs. When I left the book in your room I stuck a note in this section, beginning at page 145. The concept of a "Hedge of Thorns" is based on the idea that God is a personal God who intervenes in the lives of human beings. This is not a prayer that a Deist could pray, because it asks God to become directly and personally involved in the world, by changing how other people treat your wife. It also assumes that God has a desire to see people live lives which are pleasing to Him. Both of these assumptions are clearly true.
I think I could be of help if you disagree with any of these goals. Please write me. Next | | Tell me I'm Wrong | | Old Pages | | Calendar | | V&FT |
