Today is Hi Jonathan! This is a continuation of our survey of the Rebuilder's Guide. It would be great if you were so interested in it that you sat down and read the whole thing all the way through. But if you haven't the time, you'll get through it eventually if you just take 5 minutes a day, which is the purpose of this whole web site. The Fifth Goal of a Rebuilder is to "Rebuild a Teaching Relationship with Your Children." There's hardly anyone on this planet that I feel has less of a need to learn something in this chapter than you do. At least as far as techniques go. And yet there's no one I want to share this material with more than you. That's because I love you and your kids more than most families I know. There's something strange here: you are such a natural with your kids, and blockhead fundamentalists could learn so much from you. I've learned so much from you. And yet there's something lacking in your family. Maybe I'm trapped in a man-made box that makes me think your kids need what I think they need. When I think of Isaac I think of Isaac's father, Abraham. I think of Abraham hearing the voice of God and being willing to sacrifice his only son. But when I think of Isaac Parfrey's dad, I think of politics, environmentalism, anti-hand gun -- all of which are very much in line with my Vine & Fig Tree vision, but all of which is very frustrating to me because for some reason it seems to me to crowd out God. It's liberal politics, not taking a three-day journey to the Mountain with Isaac. But who am I -- a mind reader? I don't know what goes on in your mind. All I know is what I wish: that the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob -- and Jesus the Messiah -- was the obvious center of your home. Your light already shines before men, that they may see your good works, but I'm not sure people are moved thereby to glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16 I hope that as we go through this chapter you will learn from the fundamentalists, just as I wish they would learn from you.
