More Reasons Why You Should
Go Through the Door

Reason #5: Rio Said To.

Reason #6 You're a Christian. You have to do what Christ said.

You can tell me I'm wrong to worry, or you can tell me that I don't know your thoughts, but I think I do, and I think I'm right. As long as you're willing to keep talking to me, and remain my friend, I don't care how many arguments against me you have, or how prolonged, or how passionate. Send me your arguments. But I think if you compare your thought life with the Standard set by Jesus, you'll admit you need some Reformation (can I use that word in Catholic circles?).

But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Matthew 5:28

And if you think I'm not tempted to lust, or that I haven't had enough sexual experiences to be able to understand your feelings, you're crazy. Besides, I am not your judge, and no matter how "anal retentive" you think I am (or whatever expression is appropriate for the façade I have led you to believe), I am not the person you have to deal with. You have to deal with Jesus first, and then Rio. Rio seemed pretty sympathetic to my analysis, and I try to get all my ideas from Jesus.

I think Job got his ideas from the same place:

"I have made a covenant with my eyes; Why then should I look upon a young woman?
Job 31:1

I know that your conscience tells you that your focus cannot be on other women. But I see your eyes move as you drive. You make comments to me that let me know where your interest is.

Let your eyes look straight ahead, And your eyelids look right before you.
Proverbs 4:25

Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, And revive me in Your way.
Psalm 119:37

Reason #7 I'm not writing this because I want to point out your faults and cut you down. I want to save you from the heartbreak that is even greater than what you've experienced. The heartbreak that comes when your lust is seen in your children.

for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that disobey Me;
Exodus 20:5

I've heard this happen, and I believe I've seen it even in my own life. Some responses I've despised in my dad I've seen in myself. I worry that Isaac and Daniel will pick up the wrong message from all this.

Reason #8  Rio is God's woman for you.

And Jesus answered and said to them, "Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning 'made them male and female,' {5} "and said, 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'? {6} "So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate." {7} The Pharisees said to Him, "Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce, and to put her away?" {8} He said to them, "Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so. {9} "And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery."
Matthew 19:4-9

Reason #9  There's no real difference between pro-nuke Republicans and "sexually liberated" Democrats. "If it feels good, do it" is the moral and emotional equivalent of "If it jump-starts the economy, bomb it." Instant gratification. Self-centeredness. We've all absorbed this post-Christian mentality. We have to fight against it.

This is why I hope you'll go through the door and begin a journey toward peace and reconciliation with Rio. I would rather see you lust for peace than someone other than Rio. I'm confident you'll find something of value in the pages I've assembled. It will only take a few minutes a day.
