My idea was to create a calendar of readings which would help you turn
destructive thought patterns into productive ones. To replace a lust for women other than
Rio with a lust for peace. To gain insight into the subtle connection between lust and
war. After all, that's your vocation: charting a path toward peace. And those who have
died for the Prince of Peace have spoken of this connection between lust and war. I'm
afraid all your creative energy which might be used in the cause of peace will be defused
and neutralized by adulterous thoughts.
From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts
that war in your members? {2} You lust, and have not: you kill, and desire to have, and
cannot obtain: you fight and war, yet you have not, because you ask not. {3} You ask, and
receive not, because you ask amiss, that you may consume it upon
your lusts. {4} You adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the
world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy
of God. {5} Do you think that the Scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us
lusteth to envy? {6} But He giveth more grace. Wherefore He saith, God resisteth the
proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. {7} Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist
the devil, and he will flee from you. {8} Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you.
Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. {10} Humble
yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up.
James 4:1-10
But I still have fears of rejection. So here are a few more
thoughts. If you send me email with your thoughts,
I'll answer by placing a link in the column on the right.
Watch for the link to the calendar here, September 15, I
hope.
